We are looking for a Resource Planner to join our team on a fixed term contract for 3-6 months.
As our Resource Planner, you’ll be the heartbeat of our operation, expertly matching CT and MRI talent with the right place, at the right time, armed with rota-building precision, problem-solving flair, and an eye for operational flow.

What you'll be doing...
- Create and Maintain Rotas Build accurate schedules for CT, MRI, and other imaging staff across multiple sites. Ensure coverage for all shifts, factoring in skill mix and seniority.
- Skills-Based Allocation Assign staff based on specialist competencies (e.g., CT Cardiac, MR Cardiac, training needs). Track and update staff skill profiles regularly.
- Demand and Capacity Forecasting Analyse referral volumes and modality capacity to predict staffing requirements. Adjust plans to meet peaks in demand and minimize patient waiting times.
- Travel and Logistics Planning Incorporate travel times and site accessibility into scheduling. Optimise deployment to reduce unnecessary travel and downtime. Liaise with the Service Delivery co-ordinator to incorporate maintenance into scheduling.
- Compliance Monitoring Ensure rotas comply with working time regulations, contractual obligations, and health & safety standards. Support with Timesheet Management in collaboration with the finance team.
- Stakeholder Communication Liaise with modality leads, clinical managers, and operational teams to resolve conflicts and confirm coverage. Provide timely updates on staffing changes.
- Performance Tracking Monitor resource utilisation and identify gaps or inefficiencies. Report on KPIs such as rota accuracy, staff utilisation, and turnaround times.
- Continuous Improvement Recommend process improvements for scheduling and resource allocation. Support implementation of new workforce planning tools or systems.
- Data Management Maintain accurate records of staff availability, leave, and training schedules. Use workforce management software and Excel for planning and reporting.
To do this job well, you will need...
- Experience in multi site or mobile imaging service environment
- Rota planning
- Knowledge of NHS compliance standards
- Strong understanding of imaging services (CT/MRI) and associated workflows
- Proficiency in Excel and workforce management tools
- Excellent communication & organisational skills
