Business Development Manager

Hybrid working with regular travel across the UK

Up to £70,000 per annum depending on experience plus car allowance and company benefits package.

Full time – Permanent, 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role:

As Business Development Manager, you will focus on developing relationships and expanding our housing management offer to new and existing clients. You will actively seek and develop new business opportunities with Local and Combined Authorities, Devolved and Central Government clients. You will be part of the Business Development and Key Account Management team supporting strategic opportunities and bidding activity, as well as supporting transition to operational teams to mobilise wins

You will work with senior managers to deliver high quality, innovative solutions, client engagement and bid strategies that support retention of key contracts and the growth objectives of the Group.

  • Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders in line with the agreed strategy
  • Deepen knowledge about our clients, their business needs, and relevant capabilities to foster potential opportunities
  • Develop positive relationships and networks with stakeholders and potential clients across local, devolved and central government
  • Persuasively market and sell Mears solutions and propositions
  • Research, create and develop new solutions to issues and problems identified by clients
  • Work with the Business Development and Senior Management teams to manage and deliver SQ and bid submissions
  • Develop and agree bid solutions with senior team
  • Assist Mobilisation teams with implementation of new schemes
  • Represent Mears positively in competitive dialogue environments
  • Incorporate responses to any latest policy and strategy for the Housing sector within the bids

Role Criteria:

  • Experience of strategic business development and consultative selling
  • Excellent networking and relationship management skills
  • A competent negotiator
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Ability to proactively manage, analyse and influence outcomes utilising data.
  • Commercially astute
  • Experience of proactively generating client engagement based upon an agreed strategy

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
