About the role As the Senior Director of Client Payroll Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our global client payroll operations department. This role requires strategic leadership, strong operational expertise, and a deep understanding of payroll processes and systems. You will lead a team of payroll professionals to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage the client payroll operations department, overseeing all aspects of global payroll processing, including data entry, validation, calculation, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize payroll processes, enhance operational efficiency, and improve service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to payroll processing and client service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, client services, and IT, to align payroll operations with client needs and business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships and addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to payroll operations, tracking performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and protocols for payroll processing and client service.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on payroll operations performance, issues, and opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in payroll processing, technology, and client service, leveraging knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in global payroll operations management (as a service), with a proven track record of successfully leading and managing payroll teams.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, systems, and regulations, with experience in both domestic and international payroll operations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement initiatives to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll processing and client service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.

Salary Range is between $170,000 - $200,000 based on experience, qualifications and location.
