The School of Communication & the Arts, Liberty University is seeking a dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty member to join our online MFA in Script and Screenwriting program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in screenwriting, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and mentor graduate students. This position involves teaching courses, providing feedback on student work, and contributing to the development of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Graduate Courses: Deliver engaging and informative lectures, workshops, and seminars in script and screenwriting.
• Mentorship: Provide individualized feedback and mentorship to students, guiding them through the development of their scripts and screenplays.
• Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in screenwriting to bring fresh insights and knowledge to the classroom.
Qualifications:
• Education: MFA in Screenwriting, Scriptwriting, or a related field.
• Experience: Professional experience in screenwriting, with a portfolio of produced works. Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to provide constructive feedback, and a commitment to student success.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of screenwriting techniques, industry standards, and current trends in film and television.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Interdisciplinary Knowledge:
Understanding of related fields such as film directing, media production, and visual arts
Research and Publications:
A track record of researchand publications in screenwriting, film studies, media studies.
Mentorship Skills:
Ability to mentor and guide students in developing their unique storytelling voices and navigating the professional landscape
