We are seeking an experienced Engineering Software & Infrastructure Administrator to support Intuitive Machines-West critical engineering software suite and computing infrastructure. This role can be based remotely in US. This role equally balances hands-on software administration with infrastructure management across hybrid on-premises and AWS GovCloud environments. The ideal candidate will work as part of the Design and Manufacturing Software Engineering team while independently managing day-to-day operations of engineering tools and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Administration (50%):
- Administer and support engineering software applications including Creo, Matlab, Hexagon, and Thermal Desktop
- Manage software licensing, installations, updates, and patches
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support to engineering users
- Troubleshoot application performance issues and user access problems
- Coordinate with software vendors for technical issues and renewals
Infrastructure Management (50%):
- Manage and maintain HPC clusters for compute-intensive engineering workloads
- Administer Windows and Linux server environments
- Support hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud
- Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure compliance with security policies and GovCloud requirements
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering software administration and/or infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience with CAE/CAD/CAM software administration (Creo, Matlab, Hexagon, Thermal Desktop, or similar platforms)
- Experience managing HPC clusters and high-performance computing environments
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (GovCloud experience highly valued)
- Experience with software license management (FLEXlm or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with thermal/structural analysis software packages
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in aerospace or defense industry
- Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills for working with engineering stakeholders

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $124,000.00 - $206,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $124,000.00 - $206,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $124,000.00 - $206,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $137,000.00 - $228,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within California is: $143,000.00 - $238,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
