Created in July 2021 as a result of combination of Kuecker Logistics Group, PULSE Integration and QC Software by private equity firm Ares Management, Kuecker Pulse Integration (KPI) is a systems integrator that seeks out leading technologies within the areas of material handling equipment and information systems and combines them with proven design and operational strategies to help improve our customers’ operations. We are equipment agnostic, and our solutions incorporate leading technologies such as mobile robots, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), automated guided vehicles (AGV), goods-to-person technology, sortation, and conveyor. KPI currently has approximately 300 FTEs and $150m revenue with growth expected to double in size (at a minimum) through organic and acquisitive activities.

KPI Field Services are critical to the support and care of our customers. Our Field Service Technicians are the client facing portion of our Lifetime Services Department. Field Service Technicians interface with our customers daily, keeping their systems up and running, ensuring optimal performance.

We are looking for a Field Service Technician II to perform all customer support duties and responsibilities relating to KPI products, including preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, warranty service, emergency service, on-call service, start-up assistance, operator maintenance and user training, and promotion of company services as required. When not actively providing field support, our technicians will be training, preparing field activity reports, helping provide hotline customer service for problem resolution, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Provide scheduled preventative maintenance to contract customers as assigned.
  2. Provide on-demand corrective, 24/7 emergency, and paid services to customers as required.
  3. Assist with start-up services as needed, working closely with the assigned installation specialists.
  4. Report product quality issues to assigned Field Service Manager and file reports as directed/required.
  5. Train KPI customers on system and maintenance operations.
  6. Assist customers with part orders, consumables, repair and return of defective parts, and requests for information.

Requirements

  • High School / Trade School graduate or above.
  • 3-6 years field service experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Self-starter with proven organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend software programs to assist in the troubleshooting and maintenance of systems.
  • Practice safe work habits and abide by the safety rules in accordance with our client.
  • General knowledge and understanding of PLCs. i.e. inputs and outputs to and from devices.
  • Must have a strong customer focus and be able to build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence effectively and quickly.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use forklifts and personnel lifts (scissor lifts and boom lifts).
  • Ability to weld mild steel (optional).
  • Ability to install air piping. Copper or Aluminum (optional).
  • Travel required on average up to 70%.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs., walk long distances, and stand for long periods of time.
