[POOLING] TECHNICAL WEB LEAD

I. POSITION PURPOSE:

The Technical Web Lead will drive the strategic planning and execution of all web-related initiatives across the enterprise, with a primary focus on the Drupal platform managed by Material+. This role ensures the technical integrity, scalability, and performance of web solutions while aligning with business goals and security standards.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

KEY MEASUREMENT:

Lead the technical planning and decision-making process for Drupal-based web projects, including environment setup, deployment strategy, integration architecture, and data modeling.

Translate functional requirements into robust technical designs in collaboration with stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams.

Define and enforce Drupal best practices, architecture patterns, and technology stack choices.

Oversee the development and integration of custom modules, themes, and third-party systems.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project resilience.

Review and approve technical deliverables, ensuring quality and consistency across codebases and deployment pipelines.

Support DevOps and infrastructure teams in CI/CD pipeline design, hosting architecture, and performance monitoring.

Mentor technical leads and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in Drupal technologies.

II. BUSINESS EXPERTISE:

Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale projects from initiation to closure.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective project reporting and documentation.

Deep understanding of enterprise-grade web architecture and content management systems, particularly Drupal.

Experience working within global organizations and managing offshore development teams.

Familiarity with Material+ delivery models and support structures, including SLA-based engagements and agile methodologies.

Proven ability to align technical execution with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.

VI. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of experience in web development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.

Extensive experience with Drupal architecture, module development, and theming.

Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting environments.

Experience with agile project management and sprint planning.

Prior exposure to Material+ or similar enterprise platforms is a strong advantage.

Experience with Japanese culture.

Experience with Japanese Management methodologies, like kaizen, KJ methodology, etc.
