As a Software Build/Install Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and maintaining the systems that ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient software delivery. You will be responsible for automating builds, managing installations, and creating robust deployment pipelines that empower development teams to deliver faster and with higher quality. Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable build and deployment pipelines for large-scale distributed applications.
• Automate software packaging and installation processes across multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS).
• Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to streamline software delivery.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and stability of SaaS applications through robust build systems.
• Manage CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, system improvements, and best practices in build automation.
• Mentor peers, share knowledge, and foster collaboration within a distributed, remote-first engineering culture.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

• 10+ years of experience in building and maintaining large-scale distributed applications.
• Strong expertise in software packaging and installation tools (e.g., RPM, InstallShield, NSIS, WiX Toolset).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with build tools (CMake, Make, Gradle, Maven, etc.) and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Solid knowledge of operating systems including Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Git and branching strategies for version control.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with a focus on automation and scalability.
• Bonus: experience with Java development and databases such as SQL Server or MySQL.
