This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Armis Security. We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer in North America.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the deployment, monitoring, and management of high-scale, cloud-native infrastructure in a security-first and regulated environment. You will work with complex microservices ecosystems, diverse data stores, and advanced security configurations, ensuring uptime, scalability, and reliability across all systems. The position provides autonomy to make architectural decisions, implement innovative tools, and optimize system performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen platform security and reliability while driving automation and operational excellence. This is a high-impact, hands-on role that combines engineering rigor with strategic decision-making, all in a remote, flexible setting.
Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient production infrastructure across cloud environments.
- Manage and optimize MongoDB clusters, ensuring reliability, high availability, and performance at scale.
- Implement and maintain system-wide automated alerting, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
- Ensure uptime and reliability of large-scale systems, databases, and distributed services.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations teams to enhance system performance and security posture.
- Enforce security and compliance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC 2).
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new tools or services to improve performance and security.
- Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and provide on-call support for incident resolution.
Requirements
- US Citizenship required.
- 5+ years of experience managing Linux servers in cloud-based, global environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
- 5+ years of experience with Python and Kubernetes in production.
- Proven expertise managing MongoDB clusters, including performance optimization and auto-scaling.
- Strong knowledge of large-scale system operations, monitoring, and database reliability engineering (DBRE).
- Deep understanding of networking concepts, including routing tables, service mesh, and CNI.
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with government or regulated projects requiring US citizenship.
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, GDPR, SOC 2).
- Background in sensitive or restricted environments (FIPS, SELinux, air-gapped).
- Prior roles focused on database reliability engineering or MongoDB at scale.
