This role provides an exciting opportunity to enhance the productivity and efficiency of engineering teams by building and maintaining internal tools and platforms. As a Senior Developer Experience Engineer, you will focus on creating scalable, well-documented, and high-quality software infrastructure that empowers product engineers to work independently and effectively. You will mentor less-experienced colleagues, contribute to technical strategy discussions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. Accountabilities
As a Senior Developer Experience Engineer I, you will:
- Build, maintain, and improve platform tooling systems that enable product engineers to be self-reliant.
- Set and exemplify best practices for software design, testing, documentation, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to break down complex initiatives into iterative tasks and manage ticketing workflows.
- Mentor and guide mid-level and junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident reviews, and ensure robust monitoring and alerting.
- Drive proactive problem-solving and contribute to project milestones while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical concepts into actionable insights.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent role.
- Hands-on experience with Go, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with container technologies, such as Docker, and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Linux/Unix environments, and scripting.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, e.g., Terraform.
- Ability to scope, estimate, and drive high-level initiatives to completion independently.
- Strong mentorship, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Growth mindset with a deep passion for continuous learning and improving developer experience.
- Experience using KPIs for observability, monitoring, and alerting to maintain platform reliability.
- Commitment to delivering iterative, high-value software solutions with excellent documentation and testing.
