Senior Appian Developer (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to design and develop complex, enterprise-level Appian applications that automate and optimize business processes. You will work closely with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and IT professionals to translate requirements into high-quality solutions. The position emphasizes best practices in Appian development, integration, and process automation, while providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers. You will contribute to innovative solutions, maintain technical documentation, and participate in code reviews to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability. The role provides a collaborative, remote-friendly environment with exposure to emerging technologies and opportunities for professional growth.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Appian applications using best practices and platform capabilities.
• Translate complex business requirements into functioning, high-quality solutions.
• Implement intelligent automation solutions and optimize business processes through Appian.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and smooth integration with other systems.
• Develop and maintain Appian plug-ins, interfaces, and technical documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
• Stay current with Appian platform releases and emerging features, contributing to thought leadership and innovative solutions.
• Participate in improving processes, methodologies, and development standards for team efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in Appian development.
• Active Appian Senior Developer certifications with ability to obtain additional certifications as needed.
• Strong knowledge of Appian platform, including SAIL, Process Modeler, Rules, and integration capabilities.
• Experience with Java, SQL, and web services.
• Solid understanding of Appian development best practices, relational database management, and business process integration.
• Ability to work Eastern Standard Hours.
• Desired: Agile development experience, federal government project exposure, enterprise application integration knowledge, and familiarity with Appian’s federal acquisition management.
