This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in the design of precast and prestressed concrete structures. As a Precast Project Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant solutions. You will have the chance to shape complex civil and structural projects, influence design practices, and support the professional development of junior engineers. The position combines hands-on design work, structural analysis, and project coordination, allowing you to directly impact the quality and success of infrastructure projects. Accountabilities:
- Lead and execute precast concrete engineering and design tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast solutions.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety under various loads and conditions.
- Select materials and components that meet strength, durability, and sustainability standards.
- Create detailed drawings, plans, and specifications aligned with industry codes and standards.
- Support project managers throughout the project lifecycle, including cost estimation and QA/QC processes.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to strengthen team capabilities.
- Stay up to date with industry codes, technologies, and best practices in precast engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in precast concrete design engineering, particularly in transportation infrastructure and underground structures.
- Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, and AASHTO standards; knowledge of IBC codes a plus.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA 3D software.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and judgment skills to deliver quality results.
- Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
