This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Power Systems Applications Engineer (EMS, SCADA) – Remote in United States.
This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work on advanced Power Systems applications for transmission networks, delivering critical Energy Management Systems (EMS) and SCADA solutions. You will collaborate with electric utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to design, develop, and implement mission-critical software. The position requires strong technical expertise in C++, Java, Linux/Windows environments, and AEMS products, along with experience in system configuration, debugging, and real-time system support. You will contribute to functional software specifications, coding, integration, and successful deployment, ensuring system reliability and operational excellence. This is an ideal position for engineers who thrive in complex, high-stakes environments and enjoy solving challenging technical problems.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, customize, and deliver advanced Power Systems applications for transmission networks.
- Collaborate with electric utilities, ISOs, and TSOs on functional specifications and software design.
- Perform coding, testing, integration, tuning, and delivery of EMS/SCADA applications.
- Maintain and update mission-critical systems, including installation of fixes and software patches.
- Conduct system debugging, log analysis, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
- Support real-time operations and ensure high reliability of critical power systems software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Power Systems, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
- 6–8 years of experience in EMS and SCADA application development, preferably with AEMS (e-terra, Reliance).
- Strong programming skills in C++, Java, and related languages; experience with SQL/Oracle databases.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with system configuration tools such as GitHub and ClearCase.
- Solid understanding of power system analysis, load flow, contingency analysis, and power factor applications.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and maintain mission-critical real-time systems.
