We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and orchestration of complex software workflows and architecture in a fast-paced, cloud-focused environment. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to a small team, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality software delivery aligned with business objectives. You will work across the full application stack, influence architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, support, and operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on scalable, event-driven platforms, leveraging modern technologies to solve complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate thrives in iterative development environments and is passionate about building robust, maintainable systems while guiding others in best practices.
Accountabilities
- Lead the design and development of new platform features and major functional upgrades.
- Build expertise across the application suite to inform architecture and design decisions.
- Advocate for architecture standards and design patterns, ensuring consistent application of best practices.
- Document solutions clearly and present them to governing bodies or project stakeholders for review.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, designers, and developers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Integrations, Services, Support, and Operations to ensure successful implementation and deployment.
- Participate in defect analysis, complex problem resolution, and continuous improvement of software processes.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Strong background in microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS services.
- Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging patterns.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide a small team of engineers and collaborate across departments.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with Camunda or other workflow engines.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Exposure to orchestration platforms and BPMN modeling.
- Experience building internal developer tools or platforms.
