As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will drive the development and optimization of platform infrastructure and tooling to enhance deployment velocity, reliability, and developer experience. You will lead initiatives that streamline CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and improve system observability and performance at scale. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to reduce complexity, optimize infrastructure costs, and ensure repeatable, reliable processes. You will influence engineering practices, mentor team members, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will have a direct impact on how quickly and efficiently engineers can deliver new features, making the platform both robust and developer-friendly. This position requires a balance of technical depth, leadership, and communication skills in a dynamic, innovative environment.
Accountabilities:
• Lead platform engineering initiatives to build and optimize infrastructure, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes containerized workloads and orchestration.
• Enhance system reliability and observability using tools such as Datadog or Prometheus.
• Reduce complexity in tooling and configurations to improve developer experience.
• Drive infrastructure cost optimization while maintaining high reliability.
• Ensure reliable, repeatable, and standardized deployments with minimal manual intervention.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure improvements with business goals.
• Mentor and guide engineers, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineering lead, including leading complex infrastructure or tooling migrations.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud design patterns, Terraform IaC, and containerized workloads (Kubernetes).
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with Git, GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
• Hands-on knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools like Spacelift or Flux.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management skills, balancing roadmap initiatives and urgent operational needs.
• Eagerness to learn evolving platform engineering technologies and contribute to technical excellence.
• Bonus: Frontend/backend development experience, SQL tuning, caching technologies, AI tooling for efficiency, or prior team/project leadership experience.
