This role provides a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with clinical knowledge to support healthcare operations and patient care. You will serve as a subject matter expert for clinical applications, managing projects and programs that enhance the effectiveness of healthcare teams. Your work will involve providing technical support, optimizing application use, and collaborating closely with care delivery teams to improve patient safety and quality. This position offers exposure to multiple clinical areas, including providers, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, and laboratory/radiology, allowing for professional growth while making a tangible impact on patient outcomes. Accountabilities:
- Act as a technical health informatics resource for assigned clinical departments.
- Manage and provide support for clinical applications, ensuring optimal use and functionality.
- Lead or assist with projects and programs in assigned clinical areas, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with care teams to develop, implement, and use clinical technologies effectively.
- Maintain and improve application workflows to support patient care quality and safety.
- Support training, documentation, and adoption of clinical systems among staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years of experience in clinical practice, health informatics, information systems, or IT; alternatively, an Associate’s degree with 5–7 years, or a high school diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (required within 120 days of hire).
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in application support, system troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document findings and provide guidance to clinical staff.
