We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Systems Master Field Engineer to support mission-critical data center projects through the installation, optimization, and troubleshooting of advanced building automation systems. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with technical teams and clients to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with leadership skills, mentoring junior engineers and serving as a trusted field resource. You will manage medium to large-scale projects, provide customer-focused solutions, and help drive operational excellence in complex environments. This position requires frequent travel, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to translate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Accountabilities
- Lead field commissioning, installation, and optimization of building automation systems using advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology.
- Mentor and develop less experienced Field Engineers, providing guidance on tools, technology, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues in the field, providing effective solutions for complex system problems.
- Ensure proper system operation, including controls, sensors, software, alarms, trends, and reports.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large-scale projects, maintaining schedules and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communicate project status and document system performance, providing site-specific training for owners/operators.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate and navigate a variety of building automation systems, ensuring operational reliability.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s, Associate, or Technical/Business Certificate in HVAC, Controls, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC, or technical field roles.
- Hands-on experience with mission-critical BAS deployments, including WebCTRL, BACnet, and Modbus protocols.
- Proficiency with EPMS deployments, construction/commissioning tracking platforms (CX Alloy, Procore, Autodesk Build), and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
- Ability to climb ladders or lift items up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and time-management abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% within the U.S.
