This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge equity crowdfunding platform, building scalable and secure backend systems that empower entrepreneurs and investors alike. As a Backend Java Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative engineering team working in a modern cloud environment with AWS, microservices, and containerization. You will design and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases that support high availability, security, and performance. This position provides an exciting chance to combine technical expertise with real-world impact, helping shape the future of fundraising in the fast-growing FinTech industry.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
- Build and scale microservices with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Architect and optimize relational database solutions with AWS RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security across cloud-based systems.
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployments and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other engineers to deliver new features.
- Conduct code reviews and champion best practices across the engineering team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend development experience, preferably in Java.
- Must reside and work in the United States.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.).
- Proven ability to build and scale RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling (PostgreSQL/MySQL preferred).
- Familiarity with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bonus: Experience in FinTech, payments, or compliance-focused environments.
- Bonus: Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), GraphQL, or gRPC.
