Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance GIS tools using ArcPy, ArcPro, and Python scripting.
- Manage GIS databases and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
- Perform spatial analyses and apply cartographic techniques to produce high-quality maps and visualizations.
- Support Linear Referencing System (LRS) data management, including coding, maintenance, and integration tasks.
- Incorporate external datasets, including Open Street Map, into existing GIS frameworks.
- Streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address GIS requests, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Provide clear documentation and reporting for all tools, datasets, and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with GIS principles, practices, and spatial data management.
- Strong proficiency with Esri software products (ArcGIS, ArcPro, ArcPy).
- Solid understanding of Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and related coding practices.
- Expertise in Python scripting for GIS automation and tool development.
- Experience managing GIS databases, performing spatial analyses, and creating maps and visualizations.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and projects efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a hybrid or remote team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience integrating GIS data with external sources such as Open Street Map.
- Familiarity with STIP (Statewide Transportation Improvement Program) tools and workflows.
