This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Analytics Engineering Manager in the United States.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the Analytics Engineering function, turning raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across the business. You will define the team’s vision, implement best practices, and build a robust semantic layer and data models that power analytics company-wide. Acting as both a technical contributor and a leader, you will mentor engineers, establish engineering rigor in analytics workflows, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. This position provides a platform to deliver high-impact projects, influence business outcomes, and shape the growth of a nascent analytics organization in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Accountabilities
- Define and execute the Analytics Engineering team charter, roadmap, and priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Analytics Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and impact.
- Contribute directly to high-impact dbt models and pipelines as a “player-coach.”
- Build and operationalize a semantic layer to serve as a single source of truth for company metrics.
- Implement engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science teams to ensure smooth handoffs from ingestion to analysis.
- Deliver business-critical wins and clearly communicate progress, documentation, and best practices to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI, or data engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Expert in SQL, dbt, and modern data modeling patterns with experience in cloud warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Skilled in workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and CI/CD pipelines for data.
- Deep understanding of semantic layers and their use in scalable self-service analytics.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust across technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with a bias for action.
- Bonus: experience building an Analytics Engineering team from scratch, exposure to sports or gaming data, real-time/streaming architectures, and familiarity with data observability tools.
