A small to medium‑sized financial consulting firm is seeking a Controller who can manage core financial operations and help shape the business as it grows. This role combines traditional accounting oversight with leadership of the delivery team that supports clients with financial consulting services.
You’ll be a strong fit if you work well in a fast‑paced environment, take ownership, and balance strategic thinking with precise execution.
The firm serves small businesses ranging from mid‑six to eight figures in revenue across a variety of industries. In this role, you will support both the firm and its client portfolio, ensuring strong financial systems, clear reporting, and consistent delivery across engagements.
Key responsibilities include financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, cash flow, payroll, and financial systems management. You will also help guide the consulting delivery team by overseeing financial processes used in client work and supporting the development of scalable delivery practices.

Responsibilities
- Prepare Financial Statements: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with US GAAP.
- Financial Forecasting: Build reliable forecasts to project revenues, expenses, and financial trends for both the firm and client engagements.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal accounting policies.
- Manage Accounting Records: Oversee accurate financial records, including AP, AR, and general ledger management.
- Implement Controls: Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Monitor Cash Flow: Track and manage cash flow to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Optimize Cash Utilization: Create strategies to improve liquidity, cash management, and investment decisions.
- Support Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights that guide business strategy, growth planning, and decision‑making.
- Evaluate Financial Performance: Analyze financial results and recommend improvements to achieve organizational and client goals.
- Oversee Financial Systems: Manage and enhance financial software and reporting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- US Payroll Oversight: Manage or review W2 and contractor payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Lead the Delivery Team: Support and guide the financial consulting delivery team, ensuring consistent processes, high‑quality client work, and scalable operational practices.
- Shape Operational Practices: Contribute to building and refining the firm’s financial delivery frameworks, systems, and internal processes.
- Client Financial Services Support: Collaborate with consultants to support client financial operations and ensure strong service delivery across engagements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in finance or accounting
- 3+ years of leadership experience, ideally overseeing teams or managing financial operations
- Strong experience with US GAAP financial reporting
- Experience with US payroll
- Has a US CPA equivalent for Argentina, Brazil or Colombia
- Background in client financial services or financial consulting
- Strong ownership mindset and accountability

Additional requirements:
