As a Data Scientist at Inter IKEA, you will turn complex datasets into meaningful insights that shape IKEA’s strategic direction. You’ll design predictive models, perform exploratory and ad‑hoc analyses, and translate data findings into actionable recommendations. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with fellow Data Scientists, Data Engineers, product teams, and a wide range of stakeholders to drive data‑informed decision‑making across the organisation

You will be part of creating solutions that enable IKEA to work more efficiently and cost-conscious. Exploring and utilizing different technologies and approaches to achieve the best result is a natural part of everything you do. With your data driven mindset you are a strong ambassador and driver for the data literacy and culture in Inter IKEA,

In this role you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain transparent, reproducible, reusable and generalisable data science products and services for your area or product.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of methodologies, accelerators or algorithms created for specific models or analysis
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various departments to understand stakeholder needs and develop strategic solutions.
  • Conduct one-off analysis to support rising business needs that need attention.
  • Make sure that the insights and conclusions from data science are presented and easily understandable to other parts of the organisation
  • Support a culture of data-driven decision making across IKEA organisations
  • Work closely together with data engineers, architects, analysts, peers, and other relevant roles across IKEA as well as in your team
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology trends

To be successful in this role you will need to have

  • Skilled in programming languages, technologies, and frameworks such as Python, PySpark, SQL, Databricks, and cloud environments preferably Azure.
  • Proficiency in understanding diverse data structures and employing common data transformation methods to extract and utilize meaningful insights.
  • Deep and comprehensive knowledge of statistical and machine learning methodologies paired with advanced data analytics and visualization skills.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role working in running business activities as well as in agile project environments.
  • Minimum Master's degree in statistics, physics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related.
  • Strong communication & presentation skills. Written & verbal in English.
  • Embrace and implement modern development practices such as Agile methodologies and DevOps culture to streamline workflow processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with others (including virtual) such as team members, stakeholders and suppliers to achieve goals, pro-active attitude
  • Ability to explain & present statistical and machine learning techniques to non-technical stakeholders and software engineers
  • Ability to understand the complexity of the IKEA business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business

As a Data Scientist, you will be part of the Data & Product department while working in a cross-functional team with one of the global products within Inter IKEA.
