At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is:
The client is a boutique bookkeeping firm working directly with Australian businesses: companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join the client’s team on a contractor basis. You'll work closely with their bookkeeping team to prepare financial reports and tax returns for their client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare business financial reports and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and
- sole traders
- Review individual tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Liaise with our bookkeepers to review BAS-prepared financials before proceeding to tax
- compliance
- Ensure all work meets Australian tax law and ATO requirements
- Flag discrepancies or issues with the director in a timely manner
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in Australian tax compliance and financial reporting
- CPA qualified (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of Australian tax law
- Solid experience with Xero
- Familiar with the compliance requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders
- Strong written English and clear communication skills
- Self-directed and able to manage workload independently

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
