Developer Advocate (Remote – U.S. Based)
Location: Remote (United States only)
Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 base salary + equity

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a growing software development company to recruit a seasoned and skilled Developer Advocate to deepen engagement with one of its most important audiences: developers.
This role is ideal for someone who blends a strong software engineering foundation with a genuine passion for developer education, community building, and content that developers actually trust and enjoy. This is not a brand-polishing role—you will be a visible, credible, and technical voice in the places developers already spend time.

The Opportunity
As a Developer Advocate, you will act as a bridge between the product and the developer community. Your work will focus on building awareness, trust, and long-term engagement through authentic participation, technical education, and hands-on content creation—especially on Reddit and YouTube.
Youl'l collaborate closely with marketing and internal product teams while maintaining a developer-first perspective that prioritizes usefulness over promotion.
What You'll Do
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform the following responsibilities to be considered:
Build and maintain an active, authentic presence on Reddit, participating in discussions and responding to threads with a developer-first voice
Grow and shape the company's YouTube channel into a trusted destination for technical education and product awareness
Create high-quality technical content, including:
Sample projects
Hands-on demos
Tutorials and walkthroughs
Technical explainers
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, developer-friendly content
Partner closely with marketing to distribute content while preserving technical credibility
Provide feedback to internal teams based on real developer conversations and community signals
Potentially lead and grow a customer developer community, helping guide initiatives and amplify community-driven contributions
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered:
Previous experience as a Developer Advocate, Technical Evangelist, or similar role
Background as a software developer, with a strong technical foundation and hands-on coding experience
Proven track record building engagement on Reddit and YouTube
Ability to create technical content developers genuinely want to consume
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Comfort being a public-facing representative of a technical platform
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Emphasized)
Candidates meeting these criteria will receive priority consideration.
3+ years of combined experience across software development and developer advocacy
Experience building or supporting customer-facing SaaS integrations
Familiarity with integration platforms or API-driven products
Demonstrated ability to grow and sustain developer communities over time
Experience producing multiple content formats, including:
Video tutorials
Blog posts
Code samples
Live or recorded demos
Strong instincts for where developers spend time and how they prefer to learn
