About the role:
The Fundraising Associate will support resource mobilization efforts by managing grant writing, donor engagement, and fundraising operations to scale evidence-based cash transfer programs across India.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Development & Grant Writing:
- Draft compelling letters of interest (LOIs), grant applications, donor proposals, and award submissions tailored to different funders/organizations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to co-develop narratives, impact KPIs and budgets for proposals.
- Adapt messaging and proposal language for diverse audiences, including philanthropic institutions, CSR partners, and individual donors
Donor Management:
- Support the founders in managing relationships with existing donors, including high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), foundations, corporate CSR teams, and impact investors.
- Ensure timely submission of donor reports, grant renewal proposals, updates, and communication materials as per reporting calendars.
- Liaise with internal teams (Programs and Finance) to gather relevant information for donor engagements and due diligence requirements.
- Maintain and regularly update the donor database, ensuring accurate documentation of all donor interactions, communications, and funding cycles.
Research & Operational Support:
- Build and grow a strong fundraising pipeline by identifying and engaging relevant funders.
- Track donor trends, CSR policies, and philanthropic insights to inform fundraising strategy.
- Curate a monthly donor newsletter with key updates and impact stories.
- Plan and host quarterly donor engagement events in Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore.
- Lead an annual retail fundraising campaign using storytelling and digital channels.
- Identify suitable crowdfunding platforms and tools.
- Support onboarding of sector leaders to an Advisory Board to strengthen fundraising outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Masters degree with at least 1 year of full-time fundraising experience. Candidates with a bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of full-time fundraising experience will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a flair for persuasive and clear writing.
- Ability to make high quality presentations and decks as required for sales /pitch meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel to create budgets, and undertake financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders, and work across functions.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with managing multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of the funding ecosystem—especially in sectors such as poverty alleviation, social protection, or basic income.
