Estimator – Prefab Homes

Location: Revelstoke, British Columbia

Position Type: Full-time

Wage/Salary Range: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional additional hours as required to meet project deadlines

Hours Per Day: 8 hours per day

Job Overview:

GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Estimator – Prefab Homes to join our Valued Clients team in Revelstoke, British Columbia. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to accuracy, efficiency, and excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for prefabricated home projects, supporting competitive bids, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for prefab home manufacturing and installation projects.

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.

  • Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing of materials and subcontractor services.

  • Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations.

  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure alignment on scope and budgets.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.

  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools.

  • Assist in the preparation of bid submissions and tender documents.

  • Monitor project costs during execution and support change order pricing as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience in residential, modular, or prefabricated construction.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes in British Columbia.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience specifically in modular or prefabricated home manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier negotiations.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based in Revelstoke, BC, with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities or project sites.

  • Collaborative team environment requiring coordination with multiple departments.

  • Standard construction and manufacturing safety protocols apply during site visits.
