About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator with strong knowledge of U.S. 1099 contractor payroll processes. This role ensures that all technician payments are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with audit and documentation requirements. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries and play a key role in improving and maintaining payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection and verification of timesheets, invoices, and required contractor paperwork
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments to a diverse group of 1099 contractors (hourly and flat-rate based)
  • Maintain contractor compliance by tracking submitted documentation and resolving discrepancies
  • Respond promptly and professionally to technician queries via phone, text, and email, ensuring clear and respectful communication
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve disputes or delays in payment
  • Maintain thorough records for compliance, audits, and financial reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement solutions that increase efficiency
  • Proactively flag risks or concerns related to payroll accuracy or technician experience

Requirements

  • Advanced English communication is a must.
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, with direct involvement in U.S.-based 1099 contractor payments
  • Understanding of compliance requirements, audit processes, and contractor documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels (email, phone, text)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a follow-through mindset
  • Experience in identifying and executing process improvements
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with digital tools and platforms
