At GE Vernova, we are advancing Direct Air Capture by building the supply base needed to bring new hardware from concept into scalable deployment. As our Senior NPI Sourcing Manager - Direct Air Capture, you will lead new product introduction sourcing across a critical portfolio of components and systems, including air contactors, vacuum vessels, heat exchangers, piping, inlets, valves, pumps, auxiliary modules, and electrical equipment. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and project management to identify and develop suppliers, shape design decisions with external partners, negotiate commercial terms, and build a supply strategy that can scale with rapid growth.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead new product introduction sourcing across the Direct Air Capture hardware portfolio, with primary focus on early-stage development and product industrialization.
- Identify, assess, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of supporting critical DAC components and assemblies.
- Partner closely with engineering to influence design for supply, manufacturability, cost, quality, and scalability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve product and process design, resolve technical and commercial gaps, and accelerate readiness for launch.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms and conditions, and commercial frameworks with suppliers. - Support supplier-related capital investment discussions, including capex required to enable production readiness and scale.
- Develop sourcing strategies that support projected demand growth of 200–500% over the next 2–5 years.
- Drive supplier qualification and onboarding for new components, technologies, and hardware platforms.
- Establish and execute sourcing plans that improve supply continuity, reduce risk, and strengthen overall supply resilience, including dual sourcing where appropriate.
- Partner with project management to align sourcing execution with program milestones, development schedules, and launch requirements.
Work with quality and suppliers to improve supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and readiness. - Participate in cost-out and value analysis/value engineering efforts to improve competitiveness without compromising technical requirements.
- Monitor supplier capacity, capability, lead time, and execution risks, and develop mitigation plans to support program success.
- Bring strong external market insight to sourcing decisions, including supplier landscape, manufacturing capability, and commercial risk.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 7 years of sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain experience.
- Experience leading sourcing activities in new product introduction, early-stage development, or industrialization environments.
- Experience identifying, qualifying, and developing suppliers for technical or engineered components.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier development and contract negotiation.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and project management teams. - Experience managing supplier risk, delivery performance, and commercial execution in a dynamic growth environment.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience sourcing heavy-duty industrial equipment, fabricated assemblies, or complex engineered hardware.
- Experience sourcing components such as vessels, piping systems, valves, pumps, structural equipment, auxiliary modules, or electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with should-cost analysis, cost modeling, and value engineering methods.
- Experience supporting supplier capex, tooling, or production scale-up investments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to industrial equipment and fabricated hardware.
- Ability to balance technical, commercial, and schedule considerations in supplier selection and negotiation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
