We are keen on hiring a Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d) who is specialised in designing and implementing advanced models that drive operational excellence and smart decision-making in our business. As a key member of our Pricing and Allocation team, you will work closely with data analysts, machine learning engineers, and other data scientists, while also collaborating with business stakeholders and market specialists on a daily basis.

YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:

• Work closely with your peers and business end-users to identify, understand, structure, and solve complex optimization and allocation problems within the fast-moving urban mobility sector.
• Develop and implement cutting-edge deep learning models, with a particular focus on dynamic pricing strategies and efficient resource distribution.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers to deploy sophisticated models into production.
• Strive to grow and share your knowledge within the team, particularly in deep learning and deep reinforcement learning.
• Embody data science best practices and thrive on mentoring your peers, enhancing the collective expertise of our team.
• Be a champion of FREE NOW Data Science for both internal and external stakeholders, presenting your innovative work at core company events, meetups, and conferences.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• You have at least 5 years of experience as a data scientist with a proven track record in operations research and optimization problems.
• You possess a deep understanding of statistical analysis, optimization techniques, and the inner workings of deep learning and reinforcement learning algorithms.
• You hold specific expertise in dynamic pricing, resource allocation, or related fields within operations research.
• Proficiency in Python and comfortable with querying databases using SQL.
• Writing clean code and making your work reproducible is important to you.
• Not only are you curious and eager to learn, but you also place a high value on collaboration and are committed to fostering the growth of your teammates by sharing your knowledge and mentoring.
• While candidates typically hold an advanced University degree in Maths, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines, we are open to being convinced otherwise.

Bonus skills

These skills are nice to have, but they are not a deal-breaker for us:

• Working knowledge of Spark.
• Hands-on experience with some elements of our tech stack: Airflow, Databricks, Metabase, Hive, Presto, MLflow.

Please note that we are looking for candidates based out of Berlin, Hamburg, London, or Athens; or willing to relocate. The team is spread across multiple locations so occasional travelling to meet with the whole team will be on your radar.
