The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) seeks a talented anti-hunger, nutrition, and anti-poverty advocate to assist FRAC’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) team for six months.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in advocacy, program operations, policy analysis, and/or organizing
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in nonprofit, government or policy work is strongly preferred
- Ability to evaluate policies, processes, or programs to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
- Familiarity with SNAP programs preferred
- Capacity to tap input and engagement from people with lived experience with hunger and poverty strongly preferred
- Experience with public benefits and outreach also preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Unquestioned integrity, a high level of energy, and a sense of humor
- A commitment to social justice
