Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you’ll manage daily AR operations, guide a high-performing but high-touch team, and ensure accuracy and compliance in all receivable processes. You’ll work closely with the AR Manager to strengthen our financial operations, drive efficiency, and foster a customer-focused environment across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of three AR specialists (with potential to expand to four)
  • Overseeing accurate, timely processing of AR transactions and GL coding
  • Monitoring and following up on five key weekly-tracked tasks for accountability
  • Managing month-end close for AR functions, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Conducting one-on-one check-ins to ensure project timelines are met and no deliverables fall behind
  • Driving process improvements and implementing scalable AR solutions
  • Building strong partnerships with business units and vendors
  • Attending approximately 15 monthly director meetings in MN and taking meeting notes
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of AR processes
  • Leading or contributing to special projects to enhance AR technology

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

MUST HAVE:

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (with AR expertise)
  • 2+ years of management experience, including coaching and performance management
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Proven ability to lead a team with varying personalities and work styles
  • Experience handling resistance to change with a calm, solutions-focused approach

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience improving AR processes and systems
  • CPA certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics GP), Microsoft Dynamics 365, Therap, Minutes, OnBase, and Workday
  • Familiarity with room and board billing and Social Security processes

TEAM SNAPSHOT
You’ll supervise three team members to start, with the possibility of expanding to five. The current group is a mix of office-based, hybrid, and fully remote staff. They’re experienced but need a leader who can provide structure, encourage ownership, and help them adapt to change. This role supports our Minnesota and New Mexico operations, with invoice volume around 650 per month (though you’ll only step in to process as needed).
