About the Role
We are seeking a COTS System Engineer to join our federal support team. In this role, you will maintain and enhance enterprise-scale business applications, perform system upgrades, and ensure the stability and security of mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll work with modern technologies, collaborate across technical teams, and play a key role in delivering reliable IT solutions to our government client.
What You’ll Do
Maintain & Support: Oversee daily operations of Windows/Linux enterprise applications and infrastructure.
System Upgrades: Plan, execute, and validate upgrades in test and production environments.
Security & Compliance: Review vulnerability scans, implement mitigation strategies, and enforce access controls.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes (including human error) and resolve issues efficiently.
Infrastructure Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain servers, networks, and firewall settings.
Documentation & Standards: Develop SOPs, SLAs, and operational policies to ensure consistency.
Collaboration: Partner with engineers, developers, and technicians to optimize performance.
Knowledge Sharing: Cross-train IT team members to enhance operational coverage.
What You Bring
Required:
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain government suitability clearance
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of IT experience, including production/industrial engineering
Strong experience with Windows/Linux systems and IT operations management
Ability to independently troubleshoot and deliver technical solutions
Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
Cloud technology experience (AWS, Azure, or similar)
Scripting and batch job execution skills
Experience leading technical teams to project completion
