We are seeking an experienced Contract DevSecOps Pipeline & Tooling Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This is a contract opportunity supporting critical DevSecOps and CI/CD tooling operations across cloud and enterprise platforms. In this role, you will serve as a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building and maintaining pipeline templates, administering key DevOps tools, and driving automation across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will work closely with development and security teams to ensure pipelines are performant, secure, and reliable — triaging failures, performing root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions. Your expertise in security tooling optimization and repository onboarding automation will directly support the organization's commitment to secure, efficient software delivery.

This role is ideal for a self-directed engineer who thrives in a remote contract environment, brings a strong foundation in DevSecOps practices, and is comfortable operating across multiple platforms and toolchains simultaneously. This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline engineering, or related tooling support roles. U.S. citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipeline templates to support services deployed into AWS and client-managed environments
  • Triage and resolve failed pipelines and deployments, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Support codebases requiring new pipeline template development and modernization
  • Perform patching, administration, and lifecycle management of core DevOps tooling, including: SonarQube, Sonatype, Nexus, Harness, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira
  • Lead and support GitHub repository onboarding and associated automation workflows
  • Operate, maintain, and tune security scanning tools, including rule configuration and optimization for SonarQube, Sonatype, and Nexus
  • Identify opportunities to improve pipeline efficiency, reduce technical debt, and strengthen secure delivery practices

Requirements

Must Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline engineering, or related tooling support roles
  • Proven experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with AWS deployments and cloud-based delivery workflows
  • Demonstrated experience administering or supporting tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Harness, SonarQube, Sonatype, Nexus, and Jira
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of incident triage and root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of security tooling and secure software delivery best practices
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing or supporting repository onboarding automation
  • Hands-on experience tuning code quality or security scanning rules within SAST/SCA tooling
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver results in a fully remote contract environment
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or scripting languages used in pipeline automation (e.g., YAML, Python, Bash, Groovy)

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development & Troubleshooting
  • DevSecOps Practices & Secure Software Delivery
  • AWS Cloud Deployments
  • GitHub & Azure DevOps Administration
