As a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering, you have oversight for more than one strategic area of technology consisting of multiple teams. You are a leader responsible for driving the development of scalable software solutions, ensuring platform reliability, and aligning technology resources with business goals. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in software engineering, platform architecture, and cross-functional leadership.
Software Engineering Leadership
- Lead and mentor software engineering teams across multiple projects and technologies.
- Define and enforce best practices in software development, including CI/CD, code quality, testing, and agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools.
- Manage resource allocation, sourcing, performance reviews, and career development for engineering staff.
- Oversee production support and incident management for your teams, aligned to ITSM policies.
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives such as digital transformation, cloud adoption, and data modernization.
Relationship Management
- Develop strong relationships and build trust with peers in Technology and other business leaders at Dent Wizard.
Enterprise Platform Ownership
- Lead the strategy and deliver the roadmap and lifecycle of your team’s products.
- Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Data teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance.
- Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and platform upgrades or migrations.
- Monitor platform performance and usage metrics to drive optimization and cost-efficiency.
Governance and Administrative
- Lead and participate in leadership meetings and operational reviews
- Establish governance frameworks for software and platform development.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk through proactive monitoring, incident response planning, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Lead and manage budget and forecasting processes to support our customers' and business partners' strategic and operational needs.
- Review invoices for accuracy, provide approvals, and/or negotiate disputes as appropriate.

Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Ability to influence and lead change
- Proven experience managing hybrid engineering teams and strategic vendor relationships.
- Deep understanding of web platforms, languages, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, microservices, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Agile leadership experience and related certifications
- Strong hands-on experience with modern full-stack development and cloud architecture (ex: React, Node.js, AWS, Azure, event-driven architecture)
- Experience applying AI technologies to accelerate development and testing efforts

Physical Job Requirements
- Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
- Sitting for long periods of time.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
