Job Description:

Datasite is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing IT Operations team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise in desktop architecture, endpoint support, and device management. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions.

This role will focus primarily on managing desktop and endpoint environments, with an emphasis on modern technologies like Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Manage Engine, Windows 11, macOS, and iOS. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of end-user systems, providing strategic oversight while delivering exceptional service to end users.

You will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in hardware and software, security best practices, and efficient desktop lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Technical Support: Provide third-level support for complex technical issues related to end-user hardware, software, and configurations.
  • End-User Systems Management: Develop, implement, and continually improve desktop architecture for both Windows and macOS environments. This includes ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of systems.
  • Mobile and Endpoint Management: Manage and support corporate devices using Microsoft Intune and Jamf for both Windows, macOS, and iOS devices. Provide guidance on best practices for device enrollment, configuration, patch management, and security.
  • Software & Hardware Strategy: Define and implement a technology roadmap for hardware and software solutions that meet business needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Security & Compliance: Work closely with IT Security to design and implement solutions that enhance system security, including endpoint protection, encryption, and compliance with security standards.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of devices from provisioning to decommissioning, including managing software deployment, updates, and patches through tools such as Microsoft Intune and Jamf.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide training to first- and second-level support teams, as well as end-users, ensuring consistent and professional technical guidance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain user and system documentation, knowledge articles, and best practices for hardware and software configuration.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Infrastructure, IT Security, and Software Development, to ensure the seamless integration of desktop systems within the broader IT ecosystem.
  • Project Management: Lead or contribute to special projects, including business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and technology upgrades, ensuring that all projects align with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in desktop architecture, endpoint support, and systems engineering, with a focus on modern endpoint management solutions.
  • Advanced experience with:
    • Windows OS (including Windows 11), macOS, iOS, Office 365, and other business-critical software.
    • Microsoft Intune and Jamf for managing both Windows, macOS, and iOS devices.
    • Endpoint protection, (Manage Engine) patch management, and software deployment using tools like Microsoft Intune and Jamf.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint security, device encryption, and security policies.
  • Familiarity with Jira for ticket tracking.
  • Experience with managing business-critical applications and systems in a cloud-based or hybrid environment.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and end-users.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects and solutions on time.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in providing technical coaching and training to less experienced team members.
  • Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

  • Remote work flexibility with the option for occasional in-office visits.

Work Location & Flexibility

This position can be located remotely, however if the candidate is based in our Minneapolis or New York City locations the office follows a hybrid work model. Employees in these locations are expected to work on-site a minimum of two days per week. Please note that specific business units or role requirements may necessitate additional in-office days based on team collaboration needs or operational priorities.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position based on a good faith assessment of the role and market data at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. This position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or overtime if applicable. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other employee benefits. Specific details will be provided during the interview process. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

$83,800.00 - $141,500.00
