Quick Rundown:
The PHP Back End Developer (Applications Developer I) supports a small, agile team by designing, developing, documenting, and testing backend applications. This role collaborates with business and IT teams, troubleshoots and improves existing systems, and ensures all software meets quality and security standards. It reports directly to the IT Architect and Development Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, document, and test PHP-based backend applications and systems.
- Collaborate with business leaders, software engineers, project managers, and system administrators to deliver technical solutions.
- Ensure all software meets quality assurance and security compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, patch, and enhance existing software systems to improve performance and reliability.
- Support agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain clear documentation for systems, features, and updates.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the IT Architect or Development Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of PHP backend development, application design, and system testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with software quality standards, security best practices, and agile development principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing systems.
- High attention to detail, strong time-management capabilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Must meet physical and environmental requirements, including extended screen time and working in an office setting.
- TAS certification (required).
