Senior Accountant, Regional Statutory Accounting

This role is a key position within the EMEA Statutory Compliance team, based in the UK. The Statutory Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting, statutory audits, and tax compliance across all business units within the EMEA region. With extensive expertise in statutory financial accounting and auditing, and a strong background in UK GAAP, the incumbent will act as a subject-matter expert in driving compliance and supporting the business in meeting all statutory obligations.

How You Will Contribute:

• Lead the preparation and coordination of statutory accounts under local GAAP, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements across regional entities.
• Manage statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions, acting as the primary liaison with auditors, and delivering high-quality audit materials.
• Prepare Extended Trial Balances (ETB) and statutory financial statements for review and approval.
• Ensure accurate tax calculations and returns, collaborating with internal teams and external advisors as needed.
• Provide expert guidance on UK GAAP, statutory reporting standards, and compliance practices, fostering consistency across the region.
• Partner with external providers to address compliance queries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with US Tax and Finance teams to secure final approval of statutory accounts and tax returns.
  

The Must Haves:

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent), ideally with a UK audit firm background.
• 5+ years of experience in statutory financial accounting and external audit, with a strong focus on UK GAAP (knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP is beneficial).
• Proven ability to prepare and review statutory accounts while managing audits across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
• Solid understanding of corporate tax, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes within a statutory reporting framework.
• Experience working with outsourced providers to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Oracle and Thomson Reuters OneSource (training provided if needed).
  

Nice to Haves:

• Expertise in double-entry accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis (P&L and Balance Sheet).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Deadline-driven and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities across international scopes.
• Effective communication skills to work seamlessly with multicultural and multifunctional teams.
