Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Lead the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from concept development and design to commissioning and operational handoff, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational objectives.
• Ensure adherence to global safety standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA), risk assessments, and regulatory requirements during the design, installation, and operational phases of projects.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and productivity to reduce downtime and improve system performance.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on engineering best practices, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring junior engineers to foster technical growth and innovation.
• Partner with Operations, IT, Safety, and other stakeholders to align project objectives, address technical challenges, and drive seamless integration across functions.
• Oversee supplier and contractor activities, ensuring adherence to standards, timelines, and budget constraints during project execution.
• Develop training materials and upskill teams on new technologies, systems, and best practices, ensuring proper documentation and operational handoff.

The Sr. Project Engineer to S+ Engineering will:

• Develop, and execute complex capital engineering projects in support of CHEP North America’s digital strategy.

• Lead Key Transformational Initiatives in support of long-term Automation strategies.

• Lead Transformational initiatives by develop strategies and collaborating with cross-functional teams in alignment with long-term goals and objectives as it relates to the digitization and tracking of assets.

• Manage activities associated with capital project execution to include equipment layout and scope development, requests for quote, purchase order generation, contractor selection, on-site supervision during the installation and start-up of equipment, and proper tagging and accounting of new equipment.

• Track and report progress as required against project deliverables to key stakeholders throughout the business

This position requires up to 50% travel. Candidates must be located near a major US airport and have the ability to travel regularly.
