CFA Institute is seeking an Associate Manager, Editorial Operations to play a pivotal role in the production of our globally respected curriculum and study materials. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong editorial expertise, a solid grounding in style guides, and an interest in academic or financial subject matter.
Location:Fully remote eligible (US East Coast preferred)
What You’ll Do
Manage complex editorial workflows—from scheduling and XML tagging to copyedit reviews, figure redraws, and final PDF creation
Coordinate deliverables across teams including Learning Content, Exam Development, and Production to ensure timely outputs
Prepare and validate finalised content for distribution across print, digital, and HTML/Canvas-compatible formats
Serve as a central editorial contact, gathering input and aligning execution across functions
Maintain and improve content systems and documentation to support efficiency, consistency, and accessibility
Carry out hands-on editorial tasks, including content tagging, graphic asset tracking, and preflight checks
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in editorial production, academic publishing, or instructional content development
Strong academic copyediting skills and familiarity with established style guides—ideally the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS)
Proficiency in XML tagging, digital content formats (HTML, EPUB, PDF), and content management systems such as RSuite
Experience with mathematical or STEM content and tools like MathType is a plus; familiarity with finance-related subject matter is desirable
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and tools such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
Proficiency with project coordination tools such as Jira and experience in publishing, edtech, or higher education environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement

At CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position: Expected salary range: $80,000-90,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) or pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
