The Senior Systems Engineer for aerospace and military applications and will be responsible for defining product architecture, reviewing and defining specifications, and the definition and management of product requirements. The position requires significant hands-on capabilities in designing electronic block diagrams, software and hardware block diagrams. The Senior Systems Engineer shall have technical expertise to review electronic schematic, calculations and components selections. The position requires direct interaction with product and program management as well as customers during technical review or business development settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the definition of display product architecture for avionics and military applications;
• Define product specifications and requirements;
• Establish a system to manage requirements and their validation;
• Develop suppliers and technology partners;
• Engineering analysis performance in the fields of hardware, firmware, software, optics and mechanics;
• Support the business development team by performing technical presentations and concept development as well as participating in bid preparation;
• Research new technologies and monitor emerging display technologies.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters a plus;
• Minimum of 12 years of experience, preferably in avionics with knowledge of display technologies;
• Experience in system architecture with ability to perform and oversee hardware, firmware and software designs;
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis in a production environment;
• Knowledge of CAD design tools for electrical and mechanical hardware design (Altium.);
• Experience with reliability prediction tools such as Windchill for MTBF, FEMECA etc.
• Knowledge of common aerospace standards including definite asset:
  • DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, Mil-STD-461, Mil-STD-810;
• Experience with EMI and EMC design and qualification;
• Bilingual (French and English spoken and written);
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency;
• Available to travel as required.
