CR MacDonald Surfac ing are looking to recruit a Transpor t Supervisor , reporting directly to the Transport Manager .
The successful candidate will work at a supervisory level and deputise for the Transport Manager at its d epot in Redditch while remotely assisting transport operations at 3 other sites. Ideally s omeone with 2 or more years experience in a similar role, who understands th at a transport environment can be fast paced and where even the best planning will need short not ice adjust ments to satisfy the needs of the front-line delivery teams . Competent c omputer skills with the ability to work as easily within a team environment as they are on their own initiative , articulate in conversation with the ability to del iver a convincing view when dealing with customers and colleagues. Your ability to multitask while staying focused on the goal will be tested . This is a full-time position for right candidate who wishes to progress to a Tr ansport Manager role within a growing company.
The Transport Supervisoris responsible forassistingthe Transport Manager inoverseeing and managing all aspects of a company's transportation activities. This includesmaintenanceplanning,maintenance suppliercoordinating,whilemaintainingcost effectiveness and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
General Accountabilities:
- Planning: ?Develop and implement operational policies, standards, and procedures to ensure organisational efficiency
- Driver Management: ?Coordinate with drivers on a daily basis , trouble sho o t vehicle related issues.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Assist the Transport M anager in s chedul ing regular vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure that all transportation vehicles are in optimal condition
- Resource Allocation: ?Ensure that resources (human, technological, and financial) are used efficiently and effectively
- Quality Control: ?Ensure that products/services meet quality standards set by the organisation
- Crisis Management: ?Address transportation issues in real-time, including vehicle breakdowns or any other disruptions
Local Accountabilities:
- Cost Management: ?Monitor transportation costs, identify areas of improvement, and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising on service quality
- Continuous Improvement: ?Keep up with industry best practices and introduce new methods or technologies to improve transportation processes
- Compliance and Safety: ?Ensure that all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Implement safety protocols and procedures
Specific Skills/Experiencerequiredfor role:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in transportation or logistics in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems and software
- Identifying issues swiftly and finding suitable solutions
Shifts:
Monday to Friday 06:30to 16:30
