Satellite constellations. Tactical drones. Synthetic environments. The world is producing more geospatial data than ever, and most organizations still struggle to turn it into usable, operational systems.
Blackshark.ai builds a GPU-native geospatial AI and terrain platform that powers mission systems, simulation environments, and large-scale analytics. We enable customers to generate high-fidelity 3D terrain and extract actionable insights from satellite and drone imagery at global scale.
Our technology is deployed across defense, intelligence, government, and simulation OEM ecosystems. We support cloud, on-prem, air-gapped, and edge deployments - because mission systems don’t live in one environment.
Founded in 2020, we’ve raised $35M in Series A funding from Microsoft M12, Point72 Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Safran, ISAI/Capgemini, and other leading investors in the US and Europe.
We’re now expanding our footprint in mission-critical simulation and defense systems.
As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you’ll help customers deploy and expand Blackshark within operational simulation and mission systems.
You’ll work with simulation OEMs and defense teams where the details matter: performance, formats, deployment constraints, certification requirements. You’ll lead discovery, define architectures, and validate solutions through proof-of-concepts, working closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to turn complex requirements into executable systems.

What You’ll Own:

  • Lead technical discovery with simulation OEMs and defense customers, turning mission requirements and system constraints into clear, executable solution paths
  • Deliver presentations, demos, and technical workshops that prove capability under operational scrutiny
  • Design and execute proof-of-concepts that validate performance and integration into customer ecosystems (e.g., Unreal, CDB pipelines, OEM toolchains)
  • Shape technical responses to RFIs/RFPs and conduct trade studies that position Blackshark as the credible, differentiated choice
  • Surface technical risks early - performance, interoperability, security, deployment complexity - and resolve them before they become blockers
  • Work closely with Sales leadership, Product, Engineering, and Delivery to ensure what we propose is technically sound, competitively strong, and ready to ship
  • Feed structured field insight back into Product and Engineering to sharpen roadmap and positioning

Your Profile:

  • 5+ years in defense, aerospace, simulation, mission systems, or geo-intelligence in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Field Engineer, Solution Architect, Systems Engineer)
  • Track record of leading technical discovery and customer evaluations that result in real deployment decisions (not just demos)
  • Proven ability to shape architectures and technical scope under real constraints: integration, performance, deployment environment, and customer timelines
  • Hands-on technical capability: able to write code/scripts (Python, C++, or similar) and work comfortably in Windows + Linux environments
  • Experience producing high-quality technical deliverables: RFI/RFP responses, trade studies, architecture documentation, and technical readouts
  • Comfortable engaging senior technical stakeholders and program owners — and earning trust through technical credibility
  • Willingness to travel across North America and occasionally internationally

Additionally you have:

  • Experience working with real-time simulation platforms such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or NVIDIA Omniverse
  • Familiarity with defense and civil simulation standards (e.g., OGC CDB, OpenFlight, DIS, HLA, 3DTiles, OpenUSD)
  • Experience integrating 3D terrain or geospatial data into simulation or mission-system environments
  • Working knowledge of GIS tools and formats (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, common raster/vector schemas)
  • Experience working with simulator OEMs, integrators, or training system providers

Why Join Us

  • Work where technical credibility matters. Our customers operate in environments where performance, integration, and reliability aren’t optional. The technical bar is high, and that’s exactly why this role exists.
  • Be involved in consequential programs. You’ll support simulation OEMs and defense teams making long-term architecture decisions. When we’re selected, it’s because the solution holds up technically.
  • Solve integration challenges that aren’t trivial. Terrain pipelines, simulation standards, deployment constraints - this is systems work, not feature demos.
  • Shape how we scale. We’re expanding across mission-critical accounts. This role helps define how we engage technically as we grow.
  • Operate with autonomy. We hire experienced people and trust them to lead in the field

At blackshark.ai, we build AI infrastructure for the physical world - turning global satellite, aerial, drone, and ground sensor imagery into structured, simulation-ready digital representations. Our platform is designed to convert massive geospatial inputs into operational intelligence, including rapid detection and extraction of infrastructure and terrain, and reconstruction of physical-world elements into 3D environments. On our site, blackshark.ai describes a multi-layer architecture that runs from sensing and perception (e.g., Huntr™) through world-model compute (e.g., VEOS™) and world generation (e.g., REPLIKA™), culminating in operational environments and deployments across multiple environments.

We focus on planet-scale performance and deployability, including reference deployments noted as large GPU clusters and throughput for mapping pipelines. The company also emphasizes use cases like high-frequency mapping, physical AI training, rapid disaster response, and synthetic environments for realistic training and testing. blackshark.ai supports deployment across cloud and sovereign settings, including on-premise and edge/air-gapped environments, reflecting real-world operational constraints for government, defense, and enterprise customers.
