We are a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to our clients.
This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable discussing business strategy, risk, and financial planning as they are technology — and who thrives in executive-level conversations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and business owners
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and annual technology planning sessions
- Build and present multi-year IT roadmaps and annual budgets
- Participate in new client onboardings and benchmarking clients against technology standards
- Guide clients through technology decisions, tradeoffs, and prioritization
- Translate complex technical topics into clear business outcomes
- Identify and reduce technology and cybersecurity risk
- Partner internally with Sales, Service, and Project teams
Requirements
- 7+ years in IT leadership, MSP consulting, or senior advisory roles. MSP experience is strongly favored.
- Broad technical understanding of Microsoft 365, Network, Cybersecurity, and AI technologies. Including; 1)Windows OS and Windows Server, 2) Microsoft 365 (Entra, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), 3) Virtualization (Hyper‑V and VMWare), 4) Backup and Disaster Recovery, 5) Networking (firewalls, switches, access points, etc.).
- Understanding of Cybersecurity Frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and CMMC.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ITIL are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, support, and projects.
