Job Description:

Bellin Health is in search of a highly qualified Perfusionist to become part of our team. The role involves delivering high-quality care and monitoring to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff, guaranteeing the proper functioning of equipment, and keeping necessary equipment, supplies, and medications readily available. The Perfusionist will also support physicians by providing pertinent information, manage the patient treatment area for both emergency and planned procedures, and serve as a consult for perfusion-related patient care concerns.

The call and case load are evenly distributed to ensure an appealing work/life balance with a call ratio of 22%. The projected case load for 2024 is estimated to be around 320 heart surgeries. The variety of cases ranges from CABG, MVR, and MIDCAB to various aortic procedures, as well as TAVRs, occasional non-cardiac cell saver use, and devices like IABP, Impella, and ECMO. The current equipment roster includes S5 heart-lung machines, which are slated for replacement by the Spectrum Quantum, along with Terumo disposables, Cardioquip heater/coolers, CDI 500, Epic EMR systems, Autolog II cell savers, Medtronic HMS, i-STAT, and Cardio help.

Perfusionists are employed by hospitals and work within a single organization, which enables the department to offer opportunities for learning and growth. This allows for the continuous expansion of one's skills and clinical competencies, making it an ideal match for both new graduates and experienced Perfusionists.

Qualifications:

  • Wisconsin Perfusionist license required.
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or eligible required.
  • Experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in trouble shooting, problem solving, adaptability in the clinical setting, communication, evidence-based practices, and function well in a tight-knit, small team dynamic.
