Pay is DOE: $32-$40/hr + Sign-On Bonus

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring draft invoices are in accordance with contract terms. Review discrepancies with Project Manager, document changes and approvals, and finalize invoices.
- Submits final invoices and statements to Project Managers and clients.
- Adheres to internal accounting and billing deadlines. Issues drafts, revisions, and final invoices accordingly.
- Execute monthly pay applications and lien waivers, uploading documentation to client specific portals where required.
- Develop business relationships, internally and externally, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely billing and financial reporting.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the billing cycle.
- Research unbilled issues and monitor project milestones to prompt billing.
- Understand and verify contracts, including method of compensation, billing and payment requirements, purchase orders, and subcontract/subconsultant terms.
- Apply contract requirements to project setup, billing rate tables, and related job cost settings.
- Develop and implement contract tracking tools for clients and programs.
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of a project, including creation, tracking, budgets, invoices, closeout, and outstanding WIP or A/R.
- Transfer billable labor and expenses, update activities and rates as required.
- Record cash receipts.
- Maintain organized project files, including all billing packages and supporting documentation.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for Principals, PMs, and others.
- Able to express ideas effectively and professionally to both accounting and non-accounting audiences.
- Develop and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Operate as a financial and accounting liaison between the project and accounting teams.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in billing and receivables.
- 3-5 years of project accounting experience in a professional services firm, preferably an architecture or engineering firm.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to changes in priorities.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
- Employ problem-solving skills and analyses, report problems to Controller as necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
- Knowledge of Deltek Ajera software a plus.
