Job Scope

As the Marketing Associate in Ghana, you will be the driving force behind planning, executing, and reporting on social media communications and community growth strategies. You will be in charge of the creation, editing, and vetting of communication materials that go out across all Bamboo Ghana's SM platforms and YouTube. You will also be in charge of building a community and network of partners that can accelerate Bamboo’s organic growth in Ghana.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping content and messaging as a key member of our wider communications and marketing team. Your responsibilities will include building Bamboo's brand awareness by managing marketing and communications initiatives and bringing Bamboo's messaging to life through both external and internal channels.

In this role, you will co-create messaging, develop impactful campaigns, and actively engage customers across all segments. You will be expected to gain a deep understanding of the customer experience, financial markets, identify product gaps, and generate innovative ideas to grow market share, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive overall growth.

What you will be doing:

  • Partner with the Head of Marketing Communications to develop and implement communications plans.

  • Plan and execute relevant physical and digital events to advance the Bamboo narrative.

  • Monitor news and popular trends to insert Bamboo’s messaging into ongoing conversations; identify key moments for proactive communications.

  • Collaborate with the marketing and customer support teams to manage customer complaints and crisis management.

  • Monitor the implementation of communications projects and adjust accordingly.

  • Create and edit various types of content for our targeted audiences, including video scripts, videos, and other social media content.

  • Create and design a monthly content calendar.

  • Contribute to the communications strategy for current and existing activities and promotions.

  • Produce relevant, compelling social media updates with links to activities or promotions.

  • Analyze media coverage; measure and provide reports on each campaign and develop responses when needed.

  • Provide actionable responses to inquiries from all our social media platforms as well as emails and phone calls.

Experience, Skills and Behaviours requirement:

  • 4+ years of marketing communications or related experience. Dexterity and excellence in writing and video creation are required.

  • You know how to advocate for what you believe in and how to align and execute even when others disagree.

  • You’re comfortable in front of the camera and are willing to create content for Bamboo across different channels.

  • You're able to work autonomously and deliver a project from start to finish if needed but also collaborate with other designers, video editors, and various stakeholders.

  • You understand the why before diving headfirst into the creative. You are not just creating for the sake of creating. You are creating to move the needle for the business forward.

  • You're able to come up with loads of creative ideas.

  • You are great at prioritizing outputs across various projects and able to manage your time to meet tight deadlines.

  • You’re skilled at gathering both internal and external customer feedback and requests, empathizing with their challenges and opportunities, and prioritizing designs to optimize results.

  • You are a skilled communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences, and are known to articulate ideas and plans clearly, accurately, and effectively with all levels of internal and external audiences.

  • You’ve got positive energy. You’re optimistic about the future and determined to get there.

  • You’re cool with giving and receiving candid feedback and see every setback as an opportunity to grow.

  • You have a “can do” attitude. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving the Bamboo mission.

  • You’re never tired of learning.
