SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER

The Senior System Engineer's role is to organize overall IT operations to ensure the stable operation of K&S IT Operations / Infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems.

The role seeks to maximize the productivity of all K&S computer users by providing a relevant and responsive computing environment, satisfying the needs of the company's computer users whilst operating within the boundaries of accepted standards and processes.

MinimumEducation/ Experience

• Graduate degree or diploma in the field of computer science or related discipline.
• Six years of successful leadership of an IT Operations / Infrastructure team.
• Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery and successful service-level agreement accomplishments.
• ITIL training/certification.

• Microsoft training/certification (MCSE / MCSA / MCITP).
• Experience with project management methodologies.
• A good understanding and experience with mass storage devices, virtual environments, and server consolidation, anti-virus and backup methodologies, data recovery concepts and implementation, including VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, CommVault & Backup Exec backup solutions, NetApp SANs, and replication.
• A good understanding and experience with Microsoft enterprise products and services such as Exchange, SQL, ISA, Terminal Services, WSUS, Systems Centre Operations Manager, DNS, DHCP, group policy, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, and clustering.

• A good understanding and experience of Disaster Recovery Plans and the environment.

• Understanding of networking and telecommunication technologies such as IP telephony, network monitoring, and surveillance, wireless networking, TCP/IP, dynamic routing protocols, high availability protocols, Ethernet switching, PSTN, ISDN, xDSL, QoS, VPNs, access lists, RADIUS, IPSec, firewalls, multilayer switches, Windows networking.

Skills:

• 5 Years + of experience in an IT Operations / Infrastructure environment
• Good understanding of multiple domain concepts including Exchange Integrations and Active Directory Implementations
• Good experience with backup methodologies at an enterprise level
• Good understanding of Terminal Services, Group Policy, VMware / HyperV, concepts
• Good understanding of Public and Private Clouds

• Good understanding of Data Centre Operations.

• Excellent experience with Server management tools
• Excellent experience with Backup / Restore Procedures
