This position offers the flexibility of remote work for a candidates located anywhere in Portugal.Language specialists are experts in the language they mainly translate to, they provide translation and cultural expertise, localise content and make sure that the company’s multilingual content is as flawless as possible before it gets published and used by other departments. For this purpose, different kinds of texts, sentences or text modules are not only translated but also copy and post-edited, rewritten and transcreated with the help of various (CAT) tools like memoQ and machine translation. In addition, language specialists use their linguistic knowledge to conduct quality assurance (LQA) and check advertising materials. As copywriters LS also possess writing skills and copywrite blog articles.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Translations/localisations (mainly) from English into the target language/culture (if other than English)
- Proofreading, copy editing and MTPE (machine translation post-editing), revision of various finished texts, sentences, or text modules in the respective target language (TL)
- Copywriting, if such tasks are assigned
- Linguistic Quality Assessment
- Rewrites
- Transcreation of various online advertising materials
- Proofreading and linguistic checks of all kinds; preparation of error logs and suggested corrections
Qualifications
- At least 2 year of relevant work experience in translation (copy editing and MTPE, proofreading, localisation, transcreation (and copywriting) or language services
- Language skills: English at least C1 + French at C2 level
- Strong written communication skills in the specialist’s main target language
- Very good spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
- Soft skills: notable communication and team skills
- Precise way of working and correct prioritisation of tasks
- Attention to detail and strong research skills
- High motivation to develop and learn
- Passed recruitment test (sample translation)
Nice to have:
- Some experience with CAT tools of advantage
- Passed copywriting test (sample article)
