ASRC Federal is seeking a Director, Proposal Writing to join the Proposal Operations organization. This position provides strategic leadership to a team of seven Proposal Writers and the Past Performance and Training Manager. The Director serves as a working lead, contributing to proposal development efforts while advancing proposal writing standards, processes, and team performance. This is a remote position with some travel requirements (mainly within the Washington DC metropolitan area but can be throughout the U.S.). Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Development
◦ Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Proposal Writers to foster a high-performance, collaborative environment. ◦ Provide thought leadership to advance writing quality and consistency across the organization.
- Resource and Workload Management
◦ Allocate writing resources in coordination with the Vice President of Proposal Operations and the Proposal Operations Leadership Team. ◦ Support proposal staffing strategies to meet business development priorities.
- Process and Quality Improvement
◦ Partner with leadership to enhance proposal writing processes, tools, templates, and best practices. ◦ Develop and deliver training to ensure consistent application of writing standards.
- Proposal Development
◦ Collaborate with Proposal Managers, Capture Managers, Solution Architects, and Subject Matter Experts to develop compliant, compelling proposal content. ◦ Write and edit technical, management, and past performance sections that align with solicitation requirements and corporate messaging. ◦ Integrate key themes and discriminators to strengthen proposal competitiveness.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
◦ Participate in color team reviews and ensure proposal sections meet compliance and quality standards. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; additional experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of 10 years of Federal Government proposal writing experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring proposal professionals.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience developing annotated outlines and draft responses for Federal solicitations.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- APMP or equivalent proposal management certification.
- Familiarity with AI-based tools for proposal drafting and content development.
