As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our UK sales team.
Role Overview:
As a Field Applications Engineer within our sales organization, you will play a pivotal role in enabling customers to develop competitive, market-leading products using Altera technologies. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers from initial architecture evaluation through to final design implementation. This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Strategic Sales Team to develop and execute territory, account, and opportunity plans.
- Engage with system architects and decision-makers to understand application requirements and influence design strategies.
- Provide innovative technical solutions that leverage Altera’s product portfolio.
- Coordinate design support and technical training with internal Intel teams and customer engineering groups.
- Deliver compelling presentations, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concept demonstrations during customer meetings and industry seminars.
- Advocate for customer needs internally to ensure Altera’s product roadmap aligns with long-term customer requirements.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the region.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field applications engineering role or similar customer-facing technical position.
- Strong background in FPGA, ASIC, ASSP, CPU, DSP, or digital system design (including embedded hardware/software).
- Proficiency with FPGA development tools and methodologies.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer engagements and team collaboration.
- Must be a UK citizen.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience as an FAE or in a similar technical sales support role.
- Demonstrated success in business development and customer relationship management
